Electrical appliance testing (PAT testing)
Alphabet Services are able to provide a fully compliant electrical inspection check (PAT test) in line with the 5th edition of the IET code of practice.
A digital report complete with a full inventory of items tested will be provided for each site visit.
Rental properties.
Checks are recommended annually for rental property (including Air BnB/holiday lets) for any electrical appliances provided by a landlord for use by a tenant.
Small business premises, offices & shops.
Electrical appliances in shops, offices and other business premises also require electrical checks.
The interval of these checks is normally governed by a risk assessment carried out by the health and safety officer, however annual inspections are recommended to ensure compliance.
Construction equipment - site use
Frequent testing is recommended for all mains or 110v tools that are used on building or construction sites.
Depending on the item and it’s use as there is a much higher risk of damage occurring, a shorter testing interval is common. We recommend every 3 months.
Schools/large offices/care homes/factories etc.
Due to the varied nature of these premises and large amount of items needing testing we prefer to work with the relevant post holder to create a suitable plan on a site by site basis.
Pricing.
Our pricing for electrical appliance testing is simple:
- Each site visit - £55 - first 5 items free then £1.00 per item tested
- Return visit (re-test/repair/new item) - £25, plus per item fee
